Revalidation is the process followed by nurses and midwives in the UK since April 2016 to maintain their registration with the NMC.

It is designed to help you to demonstrate that you practise safely and effectively, and encourages you to reflect on the role of the NMC Code in your practice and to ‘live’ the standards set out within it.

This new process replaces the Prep requirements, and you will have to revalidate every three years to renew your registration.

You will need to submit your application for revalidation online, so it’s very important that you have an NMC Online account. If you haven’t already, you can set up your NMC Online account.
