What is CPI Training?
CPI Approved Safety Intervention Training, formerly known as MAPA Training is a programme designed to teach those who need to help in preventing or intervening in crisis situations.
Courses
We now offer CPI Training in-house and have a number of courses available that will suit your role:
Foundation Blended Training
This course is recommended for staff working in health and social care who need to prevent and/or intervene in crisis situations. This would benefit all staff either in Mental Health, Learning Disability, General Wards, ED, CPN and all community-based roles.
The course consists of two stages:
- An e-learning programme taking approximately three hours – this is self-led learning, completed at a time and place to suit the learner, followed by;
- A one day instructor-led event to include disengagement skills practice.
Foundation, Advanced & Emergency Blended Training
This 3 day course is recommended for staff who will be working in areas that support patients who demonstrate more complex or higher risk situations. For example: PICU, Acute Mental Health Wards & Learning Disability.
The course consists of two stages:
- An e-learning programme taking approximately three hours – this is self-led learning, completed at a time and place to suit the learner, followed by;
- A three day instructor-led event to include disengagement skills practice.
Advanced & Emergency Refresher Training
This ONE DAY ONLY refresher training for the Advanced and Emergency course is ideal for all Nursing and HCA staff renewing their annual update. To complete this course you must have valid training dated no more than 12 months from your last training date.
Note: The Foundation, Advanced and Emergency Training counts towards your revalidation – 3-day course: 19.5 hours. 1-day course: 6.5 hours.
How to book:
We currently have courses available in Belfast and Newry.
Each Instructor led training course runs from 9:30am to 4:30pm and lunch will be provided.
