Mandatory training reflects the responsibility placed upon nursing staff to demonstrate that they can work in a safe manner. Using traditional classroom training, practical involvement and assessments, the regular renewal of such modules enable nurses to be compliant legally and line with local NHS frameworks.

Training Requirements: Healthcare Assistants:
Basic or advanced life support*
 Lone Worker
Protection of Children & Vulnerable Groups**
Moving & Handling People; theory & practical course
Handling of Violence and Aggression
Information Governance & The Caldicott Protocols
Health and Safety, including COSHH and RIDDOR
Infection prevention and control, including MRSA and Clostridium Difficile
Complaints handling
Equality & Diversity
Fire Safety
* adult or paediatric dependent on the type of engagement; practical course
** SOCA/SOVA 2; SOCA/SOVA 3 will be required for work with children

Completing your Mandatory Training:

Some mandatory modules can be accessed online; in the first instance, you should submit what course certificates you have to your Compliance Officer, who will then advise further as to how to complete your remaining courses.
